About OSSA Committees

Steering Committee:

The Steering Committee is a sub-committee of the Board of Directors of OSSA and consists of Owner Representatives of Syncrude Canada Ltd., Suncor Energy Inc., Shell Albian Sands, and Canadian Natural Resources Ltd.

The major functions of the Steering Committee are:

  • Represent, liaison with, and make decisions on behalf of their respective Owner organizations
  • The final decision on all recommendations of the Project Teams
  • The development of OSSA’s annual business and operational plans
  • Provide overall priority for the development of safety training standards, practices and processes
  • Coordinate Owner resources for project and accrediting teams
  • Accountable to the Executive Committee
